Stir Crackit into clean water at roughly 30% by weight (about 1.5 litres per 5 kg bag). Add powder slowly while mixing until you have a lump-free slurry ready to pour.
What you need on site
Mix one 5 kg bag at a time — by hand for small jobs, with a mechanical paddle for larger pours. Gather this before you start:
Container: Clean metal or plastic bucket, 10–20 litre capacity.
Mixer: Handheld drill with mixing paddle is strongly recommended.
Measuring: Fixed-volume jug, beaker, or cylinder for water.
PPE: Rubber gloves, boots, and safety glasses.
Step-by-step mixing
Pour about 1.5 litre (0.4 US gal) of water into the bucket first. Add one 5 kg bag of Crackit gradually while stirring until the slurry pours easily.
If the mix gets too thick to pour, add a little water — but stay under 34% water by weight (max ~1.7 litre / 0.45 gal per 5 kg bag). Hand mixing takes 2–3 minutes; use a mechanical mixer on big jobs. Always wear gloves when mixing by hand.
Water quality and temperature
Use clean water — no oil, dirt, or organic contamination.
Match water temperature to the grade and site conditions in our temperature chart.
When ambient temperature exceeds 45°C, use water below 15°C (59°F) for high-temp grades.
Colder water keeps the slurry workable longer before it sets.

Is everyone on site wearing gloves, glasses, and appropriate footwear?
Have you measured the rock or concrete temperature in the hole?
Have you checked the mixing water temperature?

If material temperature is above 22°C, have you allowed extra water or inhibitor?
Do you have tarpaulin ready to cover filled holes?
Can all holes be filled within 10 minutes of mixing?
